Wilson Case Holders hold the case square to the cutter face for trimming as well as inside neck reaming, case mouth deburring, and military crimp removal. Standard Pistol Case Holders require that cases be tapped into the case holder firmly to hold the case securely due to the straight wall construction. We recommend Q-Style case holders when available for pistol cartridges.

Be sure to order the spacer that goes with this item. It won't work without it. No where in the info is there a mention of this spacer and it is next to impossible to find unless you know exactly what you are looking for. [...]
Terrible(04/03/2014)
The Wilson trimmer is the best hand trimmer you can buy for trimming your bottleneck brass. It's the worst trimmer you can buy for trimming straight pistol brass. The brass trim length varies with each trimmer...likely due to the poor design of this holder. It requires you to use an Arbor Press (another $100ish) or a wooden dowel and mallet to seat and unseat each and every case within this holder. Because of this, each case may set slightly deeper/more shallow than the previous resulting in varying trim lengths...this isn't to mention the massive amount of time it adds to your brass prep. I wish I would have known this before I bought the trimmer...
needs to be sized before trimming (31/03/2015)
I use this case holder in a wilson trimmer. ordered it as a case holder for a fired case, got it with a sticker that says to use an arbor press or mallet. Tried it with a fired brass and it would not fit. I sized the brass and it would fit fine. I called Brownells and Wilson and explained how it was not for fired brass, Brownells said I could return it, Wilson said that was the only size they made for 45 Auto.
The holder works fine after sizing the brass, I can put it in the holder and pull it out of the holder by hand. Just wish I did not have to size it first.
Works when it is used correctly(30/04/2015)
I have accurately cut many cases using this without using a press. As long as the back of the cartridge extends out of the holder to where the micro-meters foot can make contact with it and the cutting bit can make contact with the case edge you are golden. This will make a consistent cut time after time as it is a set distance based on the cartridge. if the cartridge does not extend out the back of the holder your micro-meter foot will contact the holder and will cut the case too short. My only gripe is that the holder has a tenancy to spin in the trimmer when the cutter is pressed harder to cut faster.
Used to make Makarov Brass(27/06/2015)
I used this Wilson holder to turn 9mm luger into 9mm Makarov. Used a drill to speed things up. Obviously, you size to Makarov after you trim to about 18mm (exact trim to length in your load book).
Works great. Creates a mess of course. I had to create a system where I would hammer out the piece of brass by using a brass punch. One quick tap to the holder would knock it out. It's not like the rifle brass which can be knocked out quickly. Wilson warns of this in the instructions with this holder.
best deal you get on trimmer(20/10/2014)
I have a Wilson trimmer this is the best on the market right now. I have had them all I get best results from the Wilson. buy one and see.
Poor machining of the above case holder(18/05/2011)
Case holder is so tight that you would have to pound the shell into the holder. It would take forever to trim a box of shells. I would not recommend anyone buying this item.
Slow process but very accurate. Not intended for speed. But instead for slow and accuarte trimming. Easiest way is to press case in and out with arbor press and a piece of wooden dowel to fit inside to press cases out. Hardened with pressure ring inside to hold the cases.
I read the other reviews ??(25/04/2014)
I didn't need a press to push the case in to the die. I just used my thumb to press them in. And a 20 penny nail with the point cut off to press them out. I think it was as fast as any other trimmer. It held well never turning in the die. I did find a few that wouldn't fit. These were all range pick up I use them to make 9mm Makarov from. Some chambers will be larger than others.
