para match barrel sloppy everything else(22/02/2016)
my para barrel moved down .010 thou put num 4 link in it now nice and tight no problem in timing
Can't beat the price for the product(22/08/2012)
I purchased this for my suppressor build, went right on barrel, works just as good as my match barrel set up for my Kimber.
Bad luck with this product(16/11/2009)
I used one link out of the kit. It broke very quickly. I returned the kit and purchased another brand.
DON'T DO IT!!!!(03/04/2010)
bought this kit and the first link I used broke after the 8th round fired! put in the next longer link and it broke after the 75th round fired!
EGW can't be beat.. Excellent quality(04/04/2010)
In just about every 1911 I build..I use EGW parts.. Especially their link, hammers, sears, and slidestops. Quality is NEVER a issue. The officers I build for demand the best..Never had a link failure..or link pin failure.. But.. you'll need to know how to time a 1911 correctly..and install the correct length link..
EGW has great quality parts(05/04/2010)
I use EGW links on all the 1911's I build for X-ring and Law enforcement officers. They ALWAYS deliver the quality I demand.. In over 5 years..I've never gotten a bad.. or out of spec part.. Now..if you don't know how to time a 1911..or fit a link properly..you can destroy any part. the links are a drop in..but you must know which link to use..and now and then fit them..
3 pins from different lots broke!(12/09/2010)
I purchased a bag of links on two different occasions. When my first link shattered in half I tried the same link# from the other bag and it too broke after less than 50rds. So I tested a stock colt link and an EGW link in a vice and hit each with a hammer. The EGW link snapped like glass after two small hits. I hit the Colt link 15x with each strike getting harder and it only bent slightly. I will never buy the brittle hard EGW links or slide stops.
EGW Changed Material(28/01/2011)
We read the reviews. We changed materials. Stress proof material was heat treated but if a barrel is not fitted properly the link is the weak point.
We changed over to 4140 and raised the heat treat. All links are now made from 4140 chrome molly and they are blue so you can see the difference. thank you for the work! geo
Guys note EGW's post(29/11/2011)
Please note that George's post is AFTER the failures. How often do we complain about a product, then the manufacturer changes it for us? He changed both material and heat treatment. Give him another chance, please. I will. But I never had an old one fail, so...
The best 1911 link period! (05/12/2017)
The EGW Link Kit provides the best and most versatile option on the market. When all fitting procedures are followed (Installation of NM or Match barrel) this link kit provides a quick and easy way to tune and refine the function and reliability of a 1911. I have never had a link fail or cause malfunctions. I have never had a barrel failure do to improper link timing. I have a ton of left over links floating around but I always purchase a new EGW link kit for my customer builds to ensure all aspects of timing and function have been satisfied. This product has always passed every inspection and qualification process I throw at it. Flatness, parallelism, squareness, etc. (GD&T stuff) I always qualify every part that goes into a build and EGW has provided the most accurate, reliable and easy to use product I have tried. (Side Note: I think the 'fitting required' option provided on the Cons option should also be put in the Pros column as well.)
