It's OK.(04/01/2011)
The hammer spring installed fine. But the 13# rebound spring was too long to install. Which I don't understand. Emailed Wilson Combat for advice with no success. Had to settle for the 14# spring instead.....good thing there were three choices huh? Trigger pull was marginally lighter but very rough.
Worked great(08/04/2011)
Unlike a previous reviewer I phoned Wilson about the too-long trigger return springs. They said that was on purpose as different age J frames may have different length springs. They said cut them to the length of the factory spring you remove. If you don't have a lathe to make one you should buy one of the two trigger return spring installation tools sold by Brownell's. Buying this kit doesn't make you a gunsmith. I also reccomend the Jerry Miculec trigger job video from Brownell's.
Worked fine for me!!!(26/02/2012)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIUfmg1JulE was a good video showing me how to do this. I would recommend using some grease this makes the re-assembly much better
Well worth the money(16/03/2012)
If you know what your doing, your can drastically change the trigger pull. This is definitely not a first timers project. If you have done gunsmithing previous, these springs with the appropiate polishing will definitely enhance the trigger pull.
First Timers Can Install This Kit(16/03/2013)
First timers will have no problems installing these springs if they follow the procedures shown in several online videos. No special tools required. Using only a 1/8" wide flat tipped screwdriver had no issues with either the hammer spring or 13# rebound slide spring during installation into my model 042. Neither spring required cutting. As a precaution against a flyaway slide spring, looped waxed dental floss through the OEM spring and tied off to trigger guard prior to spring removal. Did a similar thing with the replacement spring prior to installation. Once the spring is installed, the waxed floss easily pulls free. Reduced trigger pull by 1#-14.0 oz down to 9#-3.5 oz.
Wife would not shoot S&W Mod.60 without.(04/02/2016)
Was looking to buy another revolver for the Wife until I installed
the hammer spring and the middle trigger return spring in my S&W Model 60. Friends now want the kit for their J frame.
Wilson Combat - the revolver experts?(26/08/2016)
I didn't, and doubt that most shooters think of Wilson Combat as revolver experts. Think again. I installed their spring kit for S&W J Frame in my Model 37. Before: 12+ lb. double action, 5 lb. single action pull. After: 8.5 lb. double and 3 lb. single action, testing 100% reliable ignition with 5 different loads from 4 different brands of factory ammo, tested double and single action! Easily installed after watching some Youtube instructional videos. The only special tool I recommend is the inexpensive S&W trigger return spring tool from Brownells. I installed the hammer spring and the lightest of the trigger return springs, which functions just fine. Pretty much same story with the Wilson K/L/N Frame spring kit in my Model 10.
