Our traditional Release Agent and our new, easy-to-ship, Non-Flammable Release Agent selectively lets Acraglas bond to the stock but not to the barreled action. Both products present nearly indentical physical characteristics, and are applied in exactly the same manner with no noticeable difference in dry time. Both form a smooth, vinyl-like coating between the bedding compound and metal. Non-Flammable Release Agent is a non-flammable, non-hazardous formula that can be transported by air, immediately upon request, safely and legally within and outside the Continental U. S., so there’s no more waiting for ground shipments to arrive when you need an Acraglas kit or extra release agent in a hurry.

Release agent(22/01/2012)
Works very well. One coat usually is sufficient if you are careful to let it dry completely. Drying can be speeded up with a hair dryer. Cleans up easly.
Works only on rough finishes(20/04/2012)
After using the stanard release agent for 16 years, thought I would try this instead. HUGE and costly mistake. It will only level on rough finishes, any polished or coated finish on the firearm and it simply beads up. I have throughly degreased all parts prior to coating still no luck. It also takes significantly longer to dry. However, on the up side, no stuck actions. So, it does do what it's designed for, but at the cost of time and extra effort. I'll just stick to what has worked for forever.
warning - disapointed(11/10/2012)
when ordering my last bedding shop kit I did not notice clicking on the non-flammable release agent. That was a mistake. I was never able to get an even coat. It took a hair dryer to get it dry -- and, it still may not have been dry enough. The next morning I was forced to freeze and heat to get the stock off. The bedding surface was rough and looked like the release agent had pooled up under pressure (perhaps not fully dry). Moreover, acraglas was sticking to several places on the metal. I felt lucky to be able to grind the bedding out and start again; it could have been worse. I have bedded scores of stocks using the flammable release agent with good results.
Not worth the $$$$(06/06/2016)
I don't know why Brownells thinks it's a good idea to change products when things are not broken. This stuff does NOT flow evenly regardless what steps are used. Time to use the 007Wb formula again.
try regular acraglas release agent(05/03/2012)
Does not release devcon well at all. Can't say for acraglas, but am not happy at all. Had to heat the part enough to destroy the devcon epoxy. Regular acraglas release agent works great, but not this stuff! Absolutely not recommended.
NOT the same(14/03/2016)
This version of the release agent was described as virtually the same as the flammable version. Not so. We pre-cleaned the action and taped barrel with lacquer thinner and found this product to bead up, not providing complete coverage. Before attempting to bed a customer's wood stock we contacted customer service. They advised we re-clean everything with acetone as lacquer thinner can leave a film. We did as advised and the beading was even worse (see attached photos).
Brownells is awesome though and we've got a replacement container of the original flammable release agent being shipped in this one's place.
I don't know if this was a faulty batch or if this is a consistent problem, but if you aren't strapped for time and are in the US, you should just buy the original version.
JUNK(10/07/2016)
I gave it one star, because they don't have 0. This stuff is a waste of time and money. Bottle says put on 2 coats, well you better put on 3 or 4 if you want it to release. Put it on heavy and wet to get the best release. I will NEVER buy another bottle. -- JUNK !!!!
