Definitely recommended

Brownells USA A little too fat. 21/01/2018

I currently own 2. Allows me to properly adjust gas without worrying about coming out of adjustment. Easily readjusted if needed. Every AR should have one.

On the down side the design is too big and blocky. Makes hard contact with narrow forearms. By my estimation this is not added strength, just style. A bad choice. I took a grinder and file to mine and fixed it. Now they are both perfect. I certainly hope ODIN reads this and corrects this problem on their own.

Brownells USA Won't fit many low-profile handguards. 28/12/2017

In the Q&A for this gas block, many people are asking if this will fit "xyz" handguard. Brownell's tech support keeps answering that the gas block has an overall height of 1.4".



That is pretty much all you need to know, but I am sure like many I thought to myself "well, perhaps I can just squeeze it in there...". Every "lightweight", "low-profile" handguard I've tried (Aero Precision, Midwest Industries) seems to use a 1.3" inside diameter. This gas block will hit the gas tube channel at the 2-3 o'clock position where the side set-screw housing protrudes just a bit from the overall profile.



As one user said, if you insist on going ahead with this gas block, you may need to trim it down just a bit on one side to get a bit of clearance..



Myself, I just bit the bullet and ordered another handguard with a 1.75" inside diameter, which is fairly normal for silencer-size accommodating handguards (seems to be the second most popular size inside diameter in handguards).



If it's a close call and you are a paying Brownell's Edge member, order & give it a shot, but be prepared to send it back or modify it.
