Marginal Trigger(31/12/2016)
Brownells does not ship trigger pins with unit (direct purchase from Manufacturer does), trigger itself has very sharp edges and will require some minor filing down to eliminate finger bites, and spring feels weak. Maybe spring will loosen up with use as bushings wear in, but based on 40 years experience with AR triggers, I bet there will be some light primer strikes/failed cartridge ignition. Versus CMC, Timmney, etc., I guess you get what you pay for.
Looks good, works great, fantastic price(01/01/2017)
Installed with no issues. Works perfect after 500 rounds in dpms 308. Excellent product and fantastic price. Compared to the velocity and timney triggers I have this thing is not only on par but arguably better product and over $50 less money.
Great Buy(24/01/2017)
Predator and deer hunting. Drop in with no fitting required. Anti-walk pins included too!
Sharp edges, but will hone them down.
This is a smooth trigger with a great break, great reset. Great buy for the money! I build my own triggers and own several drop-ins. This one feels as good as some that cost 3x as much.
Not getting anywhere near 3.5 lb pull(05/04/2017)
Currently, the trigger is breaking right around 5 lbs on my Lyman digital scale. Heck, my stock Anderson LPK trigger did that.
I know the instructions say not to over-tighten the set screws because if you do, that will increase trigger pull weight. But if I loosen them even 1/4 turn more, the trigger wobbles around inside the lower receiver.
I'm going to call JMT and see what they say. But for now, I'm not impressed. I was hoping for a sub 4 lb trigger for under $100. Right now I feel like I spent $100 to get a prettier trigger, not a better trigger.
lite primer strikes(08/05/2017)
Install into rifle build and would only shoot ever couple rounds, put other uppers on lower same thing tried 3 different kinds of ammo same thing, Getting very lite primer strikes, Same money for better trigger.
awesome trigger(08/06/2017)
great value! very good increase in accuracy, lock time, etc. very good trigger for price.
Do not buy (10/07/2017)
Just got back from the range, weak primer strikes with this trigger. Really a let down.
Had to send it back.(31/07/2017)
This trigger is very aesthetically pleasing. It has a nice break to it as well. However just like previous comments the trigger is sharp and needs to be sanded. After being installed this trigger gave multiple light primer strikes on various ammo and appears to be unreliable. Unfortunately I had to send it back.
Best ar trigger for the money!(28/08/2017)
I have had alot of ar drop in triggers over the years. This one is probably one of my favorite ones! I am not sure about the negative reviews about light strikes because I've put a couple100 rounds through with no issues. I have owned timney triggers and other top brands and this one is just as good. Nice look and crisp break. I will be buying these for future builds! And thanks brownells for the quick delivery as always!
Awesome Trigger(28/08/2017)
Purchased three of the triggers and used one of them for my sons build and the other two in my Aero Precision and PSA lowers all work great ! Brownells has awesome customer service.
Great for the money!(03/09/2017)
Great for an AR that you are going to need to run and gun and better than a milspec one. You don't need a super expensive one unless you want to precision shoot. Save some money where you can.
smooth operator(20/09/2017)
This is the smoothest running trigger I have ever owned. The only creep/travel this trigger has is when the shot breaks. The reset is incredibly shot however, a positive indication of the reset can be felt when the trigger is released.
My trigger pull is around 3.5 lb. it feels better than the trigger in my HCR tactical rifle. It is just as light as the trigger on my Ruger American predator. However, my JMT Saber dose not have that stupid blade safety that is on my rugger. I would replace it with the JMT Saber if they made a trigger for my predator Note the Ruger trigger is recognized as one of the best adjustable factory triggers marketed today.
I must add that I had repeated light strikes, possible bolt follow. However I ran and tested the trigger with several after-market parts finally concluding that I was causing the malfunctions that had occurred.
I returned the following week ran the rifle completely different. the rifle ran flawless with the same JMT trigger and some other upgrades.
Excellent with one minor flaw(15/10/2017)
Was fascinated to see a drop-in trigger for an amazing price.
The trigger was very easy to install, simply take off the pistol grip, the safety and then remove the native trigger group. Then drop in the trigger, replace the safety lever and the detent, and use the included anti-rotation pins to mount the trigger. Finally thread the tension screws to make the trigger snug in the receiver. There is very little pre-travel. The trigger breaks at the specified 3.5-4lbs. It looks amazingly well-machined and finished. The only minor problem is that the trigger bottom edge is relatively sharp - not knife-sharp, but not perfectly comfortable. I thought I was going to have to sand it down, but to be honest in real use I haven't noticed. I've run several hundred rounds through the rifle, mostly Freedommunitions 223 and 556, and some Gold Dots, and had zero light strikes.
Excellent upgrade(28/01/2018)
Super easy to install. Looks great, feels great and the price is affordable. The improvement over stock trigger is VERY noticeable. After ordering I watched youtube videos on trigger installations and had a pretty good idea on what and how to do the job.
Rivals ALL Fanboy Triggers(05/08/2018)
Whether shooting at paper or animals of the two legged variety, reliability is important. Besides the really cool looks, it installs super easy, and has a really pleasant feel on the squeeze. I've easily tuned my milspec triggers with a translucent stone to achieve the light break/feel this provides. Completely recommend.
nice weight. too much creep(17/08/2018)
i installed this in my 6.5 grendel build. im happy with the weight of the trigger. but there is a ton of creep.
there is atleast 1/16th of an inch before it breaks.
Performance, Price and Quality is Grate(24/09/2018)
I put this trigger through some torture testing and it performed very well, it has some creep (or) travel never bothered me. 1st test I drop tested this trigger at 7â (feet) installed in a AR-Pistol with the selector on Fire and on Safe each on Top, Bottom and front to back 20 times 160 drops total it passed 100%. 2nd test finish or surface quality is good, I think without adding much cost a welcome improvement would be TITANIUM NITRITE coted Hammer and Trigger. 3rd test I cleaned it with nitro solvents and proceeded to fire this trigger from out of the box (day one) till now without lube and is just now showing small signs of abuse after approximately 600 rounds of 223PMC and some 5.56 it is still working well.
