Replaces Hard-To-Find, Traditional Shot Bags For Range Work & Varminting
Because most of the big ammo companies have gone to plastic shot bags, finding those extra heavy-duty, canvas types we Ol Timers used to shoot off is almost impossible. That s why our gang decided to bring them back in better form than ever! We kept things simple, like they used to be...just good-old-fashioned, rugged and dependable, 10oz. heavy-weight duck canvas bags that hold whatever fill medium you want to put inside. Whether you need a bunch for the guys at your local gun club or just a few for out on the prairie dog towns, they provide excellent stability, portability, and no-scratch support for the forend and buttstock when precise accuracy is absolutely critical. More robust than standard shot bags of the past, plus they include a built-in drawstring for fast, easy closure if you don t like sewing the ends up after filling. Attractive silkscreen on one side features the Brownells ram and trademark. Available singly and in 3-paks.
SPECS: 10 oz. heavy-weight duck canvas, natural canvas color w/brown silkscreen. 12" (30.5cm) long x 6" (15.2cm) wide. Fill media not included.

Nice, Simple, Inexpensive Bags(18/02/2010)
These are simple, durable cotton canvas bags that are in many cases more adjustable than the more expensive leather shooting bag rests. They are certainly easier to fill. If you use sand, put a piece of plastic at the top of the sand before sealing the canvas bag.
Great!(18/07/2010)
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to leather "sand bags". Well this is it. The Brownell's shooting bag is made of strong canvas. Placed a strong plastic bag inside the Brownell's shooting bag then filled it up with playground sand (bought a large sac of sand for $2). Et voila....I have a great shooting bag for a fraction of the cost of the leather bags.
These are great... but...(20/09/2011)
I'm glad I found these. But my only complaint would be the draw string. It's pretty much useless for holding in fine sand or other media. I removed the stiching and the draw string for the extra bag length, and closed the end with a wire hanger double wrapped.
I will buy more of these for sure. It'd be nice if they ditched the draw string and left the extra length which could be cut down if the shooter wanted to shorten it up.
Strong bags and GREAT customer service!(05/05/2016)
I ordered 2 sets of these bags for a total of 6 bags but only got 5. I went to the on line Chat and told Brownells about the problem. No questions asked, I received another bag by EXPRESS MAIL two days later! Brownells stand behind their stuff!
As for the bags I think they will work fine. They are heavy duty and well constructed. The bags are just the right size so you can put enough sand or whatever you want as media and the are easy to move around and arrange but give a steady platform.
One Arm shooter approved !!!!(10/01/2018)
These bags are so cool. I lose things and I stuff nick nacks in them , when traveling to friends. I will buy more for gifts too. Great for loose bullets , cotton wads , and so on.
Solid support(16/09/2018)
These bags a great value and really work well for their intended purpose. The only negative is the drawstring is pretty worthless. I had Velcro sewn into mine, but honestly never adjust them. If I got more I would just sew them up permanently.
Good Bags for the range or out hunting(04/01/2012)
These bags are very functional and durable. Best of all, they are inexpensive. The plastic bag that these canvas bags come in is what I used to hold 3 bags of 16oz Navy beans. Then I taped up the plastic bag so as prevent the beans from spilling out but I left room for the beans to move around. In other words, I didn't pack it and tape it up tight. Then I placed the plastic bag of beans in the canvas bag, tied overhand knots at both ends of the drawstring to prevent fraying, cinched up the drawstrings and tied a bow which I tucked inside the bag. Now I have a very nice shooting rest (actually I have a couple of these).
Why Navy beans? It doesn't matter what kind of beans, it could even be uncooked rice, but the beans were on sale at the local supermarket. I used the plastic bag as a liner to help protect the beans should the bag get wet.
