Best Buy(05/11/2013)
Solid Mount, I went with the weaver due to versatility but they offer one with a set of rings also. Very easy to install with minimum tools required. I would recommend this product to anyone w/ a M44 type Mosin. There are cheaper products out there for the 91/30.
Solid rigid mount works good(04/11/2015)
Not a custom mount but fits good, some modifications will help. I put this mount and a Hi-Lux 2-7X scout scope on my K98, I'm very happy. The mount is a snug slip fit between rear sight mounting ears and screws hold good, however I made slight modifications. I purchased longer stainless steel screws (cut to fit full thread depth) and brass washers (to eliminate marking the side of rear sight base, I also replaced the set screws with brass tipped set screws (burrs on the tip of set screws will dig in and mark barrel) I also removed approximately .090"-.100" from top of rear lip that fits under rear of sight base (giving a few degrees of forward MOA saving vertical scope adjustment for longer ranges) with scope centered my POI was 12" high and 5" right at 100yrds,, over 200 rounds full bore 8X57 no movement very solid mount 1"-1.5" groups at 100 yards, if you want a scout scope on a K98 this is the best mount
Excellent accessory(13/06/2012)
Well worth the money. The craftsmanship is great. The directions do not explain how to disassemble the rear sight on the rifle which I found to be tricky. Look up online first before attempting. Besides that, the mount holds on solid and is great for a scout setup.
Good solid scope mount(01/10/2014)
Great product. I installed this on my Yugo M48 along with a Leatherwood (Hi-Lux) 2-7 x 32 LER Scout scope. Very happy with this arrangement so far. I was worried that the mount would not be very sturdy but turns out to mount rock solid on the rifle and holds the scope nicely. The only issue I had was that the instructions for removing the old sight ladder were not very specific and had to look up on the internet to learn about the trick to remove it. Not very hard at all once you know the trick.
Took the Mauser out to the range and shot 100 yards initially then 200 yards. Kept most of the rounds within 6 inches of the center at 200 yards while I was adjusting the scope. At that point my shoulder was starting to feel the recoil and accuracy began to suffer as a result. I really like this set up and I really like the way it looks on the rifle.
I would strongly recommend this scope mount to anyone looking to put a scout scope on their Yugo.
Outstanding(18/02/2016)
Very Solid product and Great support. S&K rocks
The Good, the Bad, and the Accurate(18/12/2009)
I have used this mount on a K-31 for about two years now. This is a mount for "scout mounting" a scope, forward of the receiver. I have used a Leupold FXII Scout Scope (2.5 x 28), and a 2X Nikon pistol scope with great success. That's the good. The bad, and not really that bad, is the fact that even with the lowest rings I can find this mount is still high. Instead of a cheek weld, I developed a chin weld; until I installed a cheek piece on the stock. Now it is perfect. Accurate enough to impress the fat guy in the camo pants shooting next to you at the range with his over priced AR. Groups 1" or smaller at 100 yards.
Works good after modification(17/02/2014)
My setup is K31 with S&K Mount, Weaver top mount rings (product #955-490-003WB) and leatherwood 2-7x32 long eye relief scope. The rings are as low as you can get. I use a cheek pad to get proper eye level on scope. Seems to hold zero fairly well. I am happy with it. BUT when I first sighted it at 50yrds, I found I was shooting way too high. I tried to shim without luck. I finally had to lap off the bottom of the mount (in the rear to get it to point scope upward). Works great now. All K31's are different so you may or may not need this... Last note, with these low rings, this scope just barely clears the rail when turning the mag adjustment. You could go higher but comfort was my number one objective and its perfect.
Bad Design(18/02/2017)
The design of this scope mount is pretty poor. Like the other reviewer mentioned, the back side of this mount is high, causing the scope to be pitched downward, which in turn causes you to shoot high. Even with the dials fully adjusted down on my scope, it's still shooting 1 foot high.
Bad Design(19/02/2017)
This scope mount is poorly designed. As the other reviewer mentioned, the back side of this mount is too high causing your scope to be pitched downward, which in turn will cause you to shoot high. Even with the dials on my scope adjusted all the way down, I am still shooting 1 foot high.
Good Scope Mount(14/06/2010)
Great way to turn a K31 into a fantastic hunting rifle at 200+m.
Cons: The mounting rings and screws are steel, while the mounting block is aluminum. I do not have a problem with aluminum, but I do wish I had used lock-tight on the two steel mounting screws which screw into the block (not the rings screws, the screws which go through the barrel pin holes into the block). I had not tightened them as much as I could because steel screws will strip aluminum threads quickly. Without locktight, the screws backed out and my scope lost it's zero on my second trip to the range. With locktight - no problem.
I would recommend this product, but plan for needing a smaller scope with 6+ inches of eye relief. I used an "NcSTAR 2-7x32 Pistol & Long Eye Relief Scope" and the 32mm eye bell does not leave a lot of extra room. The scope does hang back over the reciever, but empty cases extract just fine.
Best money you will spend on your K-31!(02/06/2011)
Easy to install, rock solid, no issues with keeping zero. Used on three day hunt with tracking an animal in tough terranium.
S&K products are top quality(08/08/2014)
S&K mounts are solid, high quality, easy to install. I have one on my K31 and one on my Mosin Nagant.
