Caputured rod assembly caution 17/01/2011
The hardware is very small, so exercise caution in trapping the spring on the rod prior to assembly. You have to use loc-tite; the screw will back off otherwise. This is a satisfactory product and would I recommend it to you.

This guide rod only works with the factory style springs. I use wolff springs, in the rebuild kit, and they will not work on these guide rods. Wasted money on 2 of these!

If you are in a Serious situation with your Pistol and your Factory Guide Rod (plastic) Breaks, you won't have a good day..... Take it from a Marine who knows. Buy the captive steel or Titanium Rod. A stiffer spring (Like 17#) will do you well if you shoot Hotter loads. Like Plus P Loads. AIM SMALL, MISS SMALL! Be Safe and unafraid!
