Description:

Precision Machined To Enhance Accuracy
CNC machined with tight tolerances to ensure consistent sear engagement and smooth, straight firing pin travel. The lightweight aluminum bolt shroud has close-tolerance bottom flats (.010" larger in areas) to minimize bolt side play. Gives consistent, cocking piece/sear height for repeatable engagement/release with all factory and aftermarket triggers. Firing pin is Flute Steel fully polished with a radius on tip to avoid breakage. Firng pin spring has reduced OD and ID to minimize unnecessary bending and drag. Assembly includes shroud, firing pin, cocking piece and firing pin spring. If you are purchasing a GTR Firing Pin Assembly for a PTG bolt it needs to be fitted by Gre-Tan. Contact Gre-Tan and they will install and fit it for free.

SPECS: 7075 - T6 Aluminum shroud, Matte Black (Blk) anodized or Silver (Sil) Norguard Nickel Plated finish. 4140 steel fluted firing pin; LA wt. 3.19 oz (90.4 gm), SA wt. 2.95 oz. (83.6 gm). Tool steel cocking piece, heat treated and hardened. Fits Remington 700 standard and ISS Locking bolts, eliminates the ISS Lock system.

Brownells USA Did not fit PTG bolt 11/08/2018

Looks like the quality is very good, but just a heads-up when using this with an aftermarket PTG Bolt, that the shroud is too big for this particular bolt. I could not thread it all the way in. My bolt could be out of spec., I don't know, but it does fit the stock Remington bolt just fine and the fit and finish is really nice.

Brownells USA Cured OEM cocking piece slamfire 30/09/2017

I installed a Timney on a brand new 700 long action, and while going through safety checks noticed it would slam fire if cycled hard. This trigger was in a short action I had for 5 years and thousands of rounds with no issues so I knew it wasn't the trigger. The Rem cocking piece was very rounded looking compared to the others I have and I suspected it was slipping over the sear. Replaced with the Gretan and no issues with slamfires anymore.
