A-2 Tool Steel(26/11/2011)
I did some research about tool steel and their uses at [@] before purchasing. A-2 tool steel is a good grade for this tool. I would recommend it.
Works great ... but may not be "drop in"(02/12/2012)
I needed a new extractor for a 25 year-old MK II pistol. This one works perfectly, but I did need to trim a slight amount off the tail end; otherwise, it would not pivot freely. It was literally a two minute file job.
Great Extractor(06/10/2010)
Easy to install, worked great without fitting, and my 10-22 has been flawless since. Took just a few minutes to install with no special tools required. Mine came came with the extractor spring. I'm gonna order some more for my other 10-22s.
Good Upgrade(17/01/2012)
Easily drops in. Provides better, more reliable extraction plus more durability
Very satisfied(15/09/2012)
Bought a used 10/22 a while back. Needed a thorough cleaning upon purchase. Even after cleaning it failed to properly extract and eject spent brass. Picked this extractor up this week. Installed it myself. (The "just drop it in" instructions are correct if your 10/22 is free of 17 years of unattended grime.) Put 150 rounds thru it with no failed extractions/ejections. Very happy. FYI: the company that makes these is actually right in my neighborhood of Missouri.
A+++(04/01/2013)
I recently purchased a Ruger 10/22 compact model for my son. I would get about 2 failures to eject about every 10 rounds. It seemed as though the empty case got let go before it struck the ejector. A new round would be chambered, but the old case would be only partially ejected with the bolt pinching it unable to fully close. The extractor I had showed just very slight wear....not enough that I would have thought it was problem...but apparently it was.
200 rounds through the gun as soon as I put this extractor in with multiple types of ammo and 0 failures.
Great product!!
It's What You Need!(22/02/2014)
I've never had troubles with a 10/22 extracting, and I've owned one since 1965. But this was my buying a receiver from here and a bolt from from there and a barrel from.. well.. ebay. It's a target barrel with a tight chamber. Just cycling rounds through it to test it... never fired it... failed to extract, period. Doing a little work on the extractor made it at least spotty. So I ordered one of these.
The combination of a well shaped, hard, sharp extractor claw coupled with the significantly heaver extractor plunger spring did the trick. Has cycled every round. I'm sure it will work great when I shoot it... if I can find some .22LR!
