Urethane-Coated Nylon Wears Like Iron, Flexes Like Leather
Extreme-duty, tactical sling withstands the rigors of military, law enforcement, and other tactical operations while maintaining the high level of comfort and mobility associated with leather. Based on the 1907 Military sling that s still one of the finest slings ever invented for carry and shooting. Adjustable, 1¼" wide, BioThane® strap provides superior strength and weather-resistance; won t crack, peel, or become stiff in frigid temperatures. Specially tempered, non-slip, urethane coating eliminates break-in time; flexes like leather, yet is impervious to sweat and water. The extra-tough, steel hooks are the same ones we use on our famous, Competitor Plus"! slings. The hooks and D-ring are hardened and parkerized for extra strength and corrosion protection. Three, large-head, brass rivets are driven-in from the backside of the hooks and ground smooth for superior holding strength and a clean, low-profile appearance. 7/8" wide keepers provide excellent sling retention; will not stretch or lose original shape.Black Sling

Recommended with reservations
Definitely good leather - tight sizing 04/05/2018
Giving three stars since I'm going to have to trim down the width a bit on one of the hook ends to get the sling attached to the 1.25" swivels. It appears that the leather was mounted offset taking the width beyond spec. That is preventing me from getting one loop on due to the metal/leather combination. The free end that did not have the hooks/ring combo I was able to pull the strap all the way out and assemble it that way. One of the keeper loops looked like it was skived too far up and still assembled. Once I get it together the sling looks like it will be solid. QC should have been better but this is heavy enough to make up for that with a little elbow grease and trimming.
Slightly recommend
Not so good for competition 17/11/2011
The material is all it is cracked up to be. If used for a hunting sling it would be great, but for competition where the sling requires adjustment for different positions, I don't recommend it. The material is very sticky when sliding on itself and doesn't adjust easily. Sometimes it is [*] hard to get the keepers to move and the straps to slide to position. Rainy conditions actually help as the water lubes the surfaces. Like I said, this would be great material for a hunting sling that is seldom adjusted. For competition I recommend staying with good old fashioned leather, like the Brownmell's competition sling with the numbers embossed on it.
