great book(02/10/2013)
this book is excellent for both garand and m1a. I really like the details about barrel replacement and trigger work. I would immediately replace the book if i lost it !
m1 - m14 best book on them.(04/12/2013)
when they came out, i bought both types , soft cover & hard cover for my arcives. used soft cover in the shop and it was well received by all. any thing you needed was in that book. had stuff that you cannot find anywhere else, and easy to read. 5 stars are not enough for this book. thank you for viewing this.
Excellent Technical manual(03/01/2014)
A life time of extensive experience is preserved and passed on with many fine schematics and photos. Useful for both new and experienced operators and gunsmiths. Glad I bought it. Wish it were hardback as I plan on passing on this wealth of knowledge to future generations.
The Commercial BIBLE of the M1/M14/M1A(10/05/2014)
Jerry K's work is the most comprehensive shop type manual for U.S. 30 cal. service rifles I own. A little more than half covers the M1, but it's brother M14/M1A is ALL there too. I have several manuals: FM-X/Duff/Kuleck/McKee/Miller/Owens and they're all excellent too, but this is me go to. Kuhnhausen is an absolute master Smith/Machinist that's sadly becoming a lost art especially where these gems of American History and mech engineering are concerned. A technical classic written with expertise and a sense of humor to the point I felt I know the guy. Plates are B&W and CRYSTAL CLEAR as is the info itself. Printed on heavy gloss paper and quality bound. Best of all, you don't have to be a Gunsmith to understand it. Actually found it hard to put down. If you love these rifles and want to really learn them - buy this one first.
