GREAT TOOL BUT BROKE!(01/03/2015)
I finally bought this tool after years of using the standard type of AR wrenches for barrel change. It had come highly recommended by several friends. The tool worked wonderfully. It was far superior to any barrel tool I had used. It made barrel changes a snap. But, the tool failed after only a few builds. Two pins sheared off. I had the torque wrench set for 50lbs. I am sending it back and I am sure Brownell's will send a replacement. I will update review after using that tool.
(On Order) Not a review just a concern(18/10/2015)
One consideration while using this tool in conjunction with a torque wrench...
it will ONLY read correctly per the torque wrench value or setting IF the tool is 90 degrees to the torque wrench beam thereby maintaining the combined total length of the tool. If the tool is used at zero degrees (meaning it's an extension of the torque wrench), thereby increasing the combined total length of the tool, the torque value would have to be recalculated and reduced the appropriate amount. The center-line of the square drive to the center-line of the barrel nut wrench would have to be known first.
