Rail Kits designed for JP system, will also work with many other free-float tubes. Modular handguard/rail system gives the tactical shooter maximum flexibility to customize the number, position, and length of accessory rails on his rifle. Mount rails or sling swivels at 45° intervals around the handguard.

SPECS: 6061 T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodized, matte black. Steel inner barrel nut, swivel studs, and setscrews with matte black oxide finish. 2" (5cm) dia. without attachments. Includes inner and outer barrel retainer nuts and 2 sling swivels with backer plates, setscrews.

I am very happy with this handguard. It is designed well and installed easily. This will allow me to mount a pair of backup flip sights on the 45 degree so I can mount a magnified scope on top. It has no flex and will serve this purpose very well.

The only con I've found is that it gets much hotter than the original.

Nice lightweight handguard (10/09/2009)

Fit and finish is perfect. JP has done a nice job with this handguard. Installation was a very smooth, just be sure to follow the directions to the letter. Red loctite will be required when fitting the outer barrel nut, before continuing with the install (You'll need two days to install to allow the red loctite time to set). I installed this rifle length handguard on a 16" .223 carbine barreled rifle - used a YHM low profile set screw gas block (YHM-9383) and had plenty of clearance. The modular rails are a big plus as keeps the overall weight down.

Best handgaurd on the market (12/03/2010)

This is hands down the best handgaurd I have ever tried. It gives you full flexibility to adapt it to fit your needs. You can add picatiny rails if and where you need. It has sufficient vents to allow barrel and gas tubes to cool, doesn't trap in the head like carbon fiber. It also does a great job of protecting your hands from the heat.

Anyone running a flat top gun with a16" barrel or longer should get the rifle lenght, just make sure you have a short gas block. Get the extenion if you are running a fixed front sight.

This is a great product for a many reasons, here are a few. I love the fact you can put the rails where ever you want to. The length is great too, many people want the Daniel Defense Rails for added length. But this costs less but offers more. You wil still have the length plus the ability to mount everywhere, even at angles the Daniel Defense and others can't. The feel is good although it does heat up after(90 rounds in 15 minutes)but just wear gloves or do not shoot as much. Also the tubular design is great for the fit of your hand. This product is awesome!

I use this product in tactical rifle competition. It's a great product that's everything JP promised it would be. Tough, stable, and functional. I am extreamly satified with it now that it's installed (by me). However, if this is your first time to attemp something like this I feel the instructions are poorly written. The main problem is the same part (in some cases) is referred to by as many as three different names. Keep the instructions simple because the process really is.

Super strong construction. The install took me 15 minutes. You do not need to let the red locktight set over night. Have a buddy hold the outter barrel nut and torque to 90 Ft. Lbs. Super easy to install, it looks great and I mounted my BUIS to the forearm at 45 degrees.

The tube is good and well built.

However the picture shows the tube and several pcs of rail. It showed up with no rails.

The construction is top notch and it's very robust. I think it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

[...], and works great as a modular upgrade to a JP/VTAC tube. Be advised, this is not the rail you want if you want to run an iron sight up front, as it is not the right height for the 12 o'clock position. I don't believe Brownells carries that particular sight. I ordered 12 o'clock rail straight from the 'source',[...].
