Brownells USA Tech Sights – TSR 200 25/01/2018

Decent sight once you can get it set. When I first got the sight set, the front sight base dovetail was under sized and would not fit in the Ruger factory dovetail, it just slid through. I packed it up and put it in my parts box. When I acquired a new 10-22 I tried it again, same problem. I called Tech-Sights and the lady stated that the new front sight base was now steel instead of aluminum and would solve the problem. She sent me the new base ($ 15.00) and it did solve it. With a front set screw that spreads the dovetail to fit tightly in the slot and 2 button head screws to lock it in side to side, the sight base is not going anywhere soon. I had trouble seeing the Tall NM post and replaced it with a wider post. Now it shot too high. I raised the front post as far as it would go and about to come out. I then lowered the font sight until the platform was flush and found a tool to lower the rear sight until the aperture was almost below the rear base notch. Now all is good and the rifle is sighted in for 50 yrds. It gives me the same sight picture as my CMP AR-15.

When they first introduced the TSR100/200 GI type aperture sight for the 1022 years back, both the rear and front sight bases are made of aluminium. I found the front sight protective wings to be a little on the fragile side that it will bend when it bumped hard into a solid object. Now, Tech-Sight made this part an all steel construction to eliminate this problem. They also incorporated tightening screws on both side and rear of the base making it virtually immoveable once locked into place. Both the rear peep sight and front sight post are elevation adjustable providing a lot of room for elevation setting for accurate long distant shooting. Wheter you choose the TSR100 or 200, you cannot go wrong. This is the perfect iron sight for a stock or bull barelled 1022.
