Quality product, but needs tweaking 10/03/2011
This Edgewood front bag is used in Caldwell Rock BR Rest, set up for an Anschutz Benchrest Mod.1913 with a 3" forend - some minor trimming was needed to get proper fit with the rest.
The quality & workmanship is excellent - it is relatively expensive, but you get what you pay for - up to a point.
After the first few times of use, I did find that the sand filling tended to form a hump where the bottom of the rifle's forend meets the bottom of the bag. Reducing the amount of fill solved this problem but caused another - that of floppy ears. This can be overcome by massaging the fill every couple of weeks but it is a bit irritating. The ideal front bag would have separate compartments for ears & base - like most quality rear bags - but I'm not aware of any front bags on the market with this feature. Also, if I could have my druthers, I would prefer the ears to be a little higher, but this is a complaint I have with other makes too.
Overall though, a very well-made product that should give years of use.
Buy this one first 02/08/2010
Do you want the reinforcement of this bag? You sure do. I have use three other front bags. All tend to sag to one side and let the rifle tilt. The extra support this front bg gives is perfect and eliminates any problems. Yes, if you are sitting there wondering, buy this one first.
